What will students learn?
The focus of this session will be on classical communication skills, speech writing, and leadership.
Students will learn a seven-step process to writing an engaging speech. We will also work on presentation skills, including delivery, body movement, and how to project emotion. These skills will be taught using games and activities and then practiced within their speech.
The goal will be to give each student time to practice speaking each week and receive feedback on how to improve. These improvements will be incorporated into their final showcase presentation to parents.
It is a proven method to build confidence and help students grow the skills to become effective and engaging communicators, whether on stage, in class, or with family and peers.
Students will each have turns to lead various portions of weekly meetings.
Each student will write and present a speech for the showcase presentation to parents and guests on December 12th.
